I grew up in Orange County, California. My dad is a musician and taught me how to play the guitar when I was in middle school, and I was hooked ever since. I began writing songs, singing in church, and even played saxophone in my school jazz band. Music was a huge part of me very early on.
My dad's family is from Kentucky and Oklahoma and has always loved country music, but it wasn't until my early 20s that I really embraced my roots and discovered its undeniable beauty and ability to tell stories. Since then, I have become musically influenced by the great icons of country music like Johnny Cash, as well as the newer artists of today like Miranda Lambert.
While I've dedicated the past eight years of my life studying psychology and serving in the mental health field, I can't seem to get away from my true love and passion: music. In some ways, they both aim to achieve the same goal--helping others heal. My hope is that through my songs I can help others do just that through the power of music.
